Domain name registration

The web site's domain name is what most people refer to as a "web site address", such as "www.yourcompanyname.com" Web site domain names are registered through separate companies know as domain registrars. We can assist you in registering a domain name with the proper organization, and also help you choose a name that will help customers find your web site more easily. I strongly suggest using a reputable registrar rather than one of the "discount" companies. You will pay a few dollars more per year but it can save you a lot of hassle in the long run.

Web site promotion and search engine placement

Registering your web site with the search engines (Google, MSN, Yahoo, etc.) is an optional, although highly recommended step in creating a visible online identity.

We can optimize your web site in a manner that can help your site's ranking in the search engines and bring you more traffic.

Email

You will need to be able to send and retrieve email. You may need multiple email addresses for your company. You may want the capability to access your email away from the office or on the road. Do you want the hosting company to also host your email? Or do you require your own email server? All these considerations make this important service difficult to manage. We have the experience needed to guide you through these important decisions and the expertise to implement your best solution.

Web site maintenance

It may well be that you or your staff may have the ability to make updates to your web site after it is finished. If so, we will gladly provide training to show you how to do this.

If you prefer that we make the updates to your site, there are a variety of options:

• For very simple changes. such as modifying a few lines of text, there is usually no charge.
• For more involved changes to your site, such as adding new pages, complete revisions of pages, graphics work, etc., there are hourly fees. Depending on the amount of work involved, we can arrange billing on a monthly or quarterly basis.
• If you forsee that your web site will require frequent updates over an extended period of time you might consider entering into a maintenance contract.
